Several years ago Lt. Gen Victor Malu was directed to deal with the people of Odi..
Of course the people of odi deserve to die, they cried out against the invasion of their land... How dare they agitate against the government.. Who are they to say they want to manage their resources... What rights do they have to ask for development... Don't they know all resources belonged to the federal government ,managed by the president who decides who gets what or not....
Yes, the people of Odi deserved death and Lt.Gen Victor Malu the then Chief of Army Staff was ready to do the job.
He initiated his own Python dance and the military swung into action... The people of Odi were dealt with, their sons were killed, their daughters, wives and mothers were raped to death ... Odi boiled and burned... Odi was burnt to the ground and the people TAUGHT A LESSON ..
The President of Nigeria in that year 1999 was impressed with Malu for a job well done.
How dare Odi challenge the president don't they know that in Nigeria the president is supreme and above the constitution. The lives of citizens are in the hands of the president he decides who lives or not...
A lot of people cried out against Odi Massacre , the likes of Timaya sang about it BUT Victor Malu defended it...
Nigeria is a sovereign state and it's the duty of the president to uphold it as so .. He said
Is there no other way? the people asked
Victor said the people of Odi asked for it and so THEY DESERVE IT.. He gave every justification how the Odi massacre is a necessary evil... .
Every enemy of the state is disciplined by the military and the people of Odi made themselves an enemy of the state.................... .......
And so, The people of Odi were taught a very big lesson even though that lesson gave birth to Niger delta militancy that held the nation to ransom... And Victor Malu miraculously enjoyed enormous wealth all thanks to Almighty God....
Several years later another dance came up, now not a python dance rather a cattle dance... It ravaged, it killed... The cattle astonishingly became more dangerous than the python... The cattle dance of the Fulani herdsmen became more ferocious than the python dance of the military....
Oh they came for Benue state, the home of Lt. Gen Victor Malu and he cried... He granted international interviews... He ran to New York but Benue State continued to boil and burn . The cattle dance came for his home killed and maimed some of his siblings....
He condemned and cursed but all to no avail...
Malu forgot it was still the same dance... The only difference is the animal... The python danced in Odi while the cattle danced in Benue.... A dance is still a dance irrespective of the Animal....And Malu mourned...
Unfortunately I see a lot of Victor Malu everywhere .... Yes the python is dancing in Abia an just like Malu said for odi... The people of ABIA DESERVE IT... They asked for it and they got it. YES IT SERVES THEM RIGHT....
But who knows where the next dance will take place who knows what animal will be used... Who knows......
There is a dance of supremacy in Nigeria... A constant reminder of who is majority and who is minority... That dance will continue to go on until we unanimously turn off the music irrespective of tribe and religion looking unto what is right or wrong.. ...........
Until then the dance will go on... Who knows it may be the dance of the Elephant coming your way or my way........
Who will be the dancer and who will be danced on..... Only the gods can say....
